Mr. Morrison Conteh was born in Sierra Leone on February 2, 1964. He is an experienced banker with more than 34 years of leadership in major financial institutions across the country. He retired in February 2024 as Director of Risk Management at Rokel Commercial Bank, after a long career at Standard Chartered Bank, United Bank for Africa, International Commercial Bank (now FBN Bank), and Rokel Commercial Bank. Over the years, he became known for helping banks grow safely, improving operations, and guiding teams with strong leadership.

At Rokel Commercial Bank (2015–2024), he managed lending policies and credit risks, helping reduce bad loans. Before that, as Executive Director (Credit) at International Commercial Bank (2010–2015), he grew the loan portfolio and improved credit checks. He also worked as Deputy Managing Director at A Call to Business (2009), where he built microfinance and small business programs. At UBA Sierra Leone (2008–2009), he was Branch Manager and Head of Consumer Banking. Earlier, at Standard Chartered Bank (1989–2008), he managed several branches and led expansion projects, including reopening the Bo branch after the civil war in 2002.

Mr. Conteh studied at Njala University, earning both an MSc in Development Studies and an MBA in Business Administration. He also holds a BSc in Financial Services from IPAM, University of Sierra Leone, and a Higher Teacher’s Certificate from Milton Margai Teachers College. His main strengths are risk management, credit growth and recovery, leadership and mentoring, consumer banking, policy development, compliance, and stakeholder relations. He brings deep knowledge, proven leadership, and the ability to balance risk and opportunity to any organization, while supporting strong governance and sustainable growth.
