Mr. Alex Emile Studa-Vincent joined Commerce & Mortgage Bank in 2017 as chief risk officer, at a time when the bank’s product and service risk frameworks were almost nonexistent. He spearheaded a comprehensive risk management reform that placed the institution on a sound regulatory footing and enhanced its reputation. In February 2022, he assumed the role of managing director, a position he continues to hold.

With over 21 years of continuous professional experience, Mr. Studa-Vincent has developed expertise in economics, banking, compliance, credit, operational risk management, administration, and marketing. Before joining Commerce & Mortgage Bank, he worked with two commercial banks and, between 2003 and 2006, served as a full-time lecturer at Njala University. His leadership qualities and team-building spirit have guided the bank through turbulent times, steering it toward stability and profitability.

He holds an LLB (Hons), an MSc in Agricultural Economics, and a BSc in Economics (Education), all from Njala University. In addition, he graduated in 2025 from the University of Sierra Leone and the Sierra Leone Law School, earning his qualification as a lawyer.
