Mohamed Arouna Kamara
HEAD INTERNAL CONTROL.
Mohamed Arouna Kamara joined the Bank in January 2024 as Head, Internal Control. He has extensive experience in strengthening governance, risk, and control frameworks across both public and private sectors.
He previously worked with Audit Service Sierra Leone as an Auditor. He also served at A Call to Business Saving & Loans as Internal Audit & Investigations, and Project Manager. At United Bank for Africa, he held roles as Country Head Internal Control (Relief) and Resident Internal Control Officer.
Mohamed holds an MBA, a Postgraduate Diploma in Procurement, and BSc (Hons) in Financial Services from the University of Sierra Leone.
He has further strengthened his professional expertise through specialized international trainings, including Auditing in an IT Environment at the International Centre for Information Systems and Audit (iCISA), India; Skills Enhancement Training in IT Audit/Control & Forensic Investigation at UBA Academy, Nigeria; and Basic Control & Audit Skills Enhancement Programme at UBA Group Academy, Ghana.
